On exhibit at Adams Memorial Art Gallery,
will be the fine-artwork of local artisan Susan TeWinkle Wolfe.

Susan has been a professional free-lance artist most of her life and has sold works to clients through-out the world. Her paintings have graced magazine covers, won awards,  and have been purchased by celebrities. Susan is most notably an equine and portrait artist. Her subject matter also includes local landmarks, floral compositions and abstracts.  World championship race horses, local landmarks, celebrities and abstracts. Thats what Adams Memorial Gallery in Dunkirk, NY is putting on display when they host nationally recognized artisan Susan TeWinkle Wolfe.  Susan is a local resident that has traveled far and wide to showcase her unique talent for fine-art.  Adams wanted to showcase a family portrait artist to coincide with Dunkirks Beach Bash weekend. "We knew alot of families would be in town looking for something unique and this is a special treat for sure" said Susans son and Gallery Director Jason Wolfe.  "We are trying to re-create a much  more professional atmosphere at the gallery and hosting a nationally recognized artist is the start we're looking for."

Susan is best known for her portraits of world championship racehorses.  "Growing up locally I was able to go (horse) riding quite often and developed a love of horses" said Susan. This passion lead to devotion and drove Wolfe into the harness racing circuit. Wolfe was invited to exhibit her paintings at the Meadowlands racetrack in New Jersey.  Corporate commissions soon followed, including over ten commissions for Ladbroke at the Meadows in Washington, PA., cover works  for Trot Magazine, The Canadian Sportsman and the Journal of Equine Veterinary Science and a portrait of former Yankees owner George Stienbrenner with his favorite Philly.

Wolfe then went on to undertake numerous commissions for private and corporate clients from the U.S., Canada, and around the world.  Celebrity clients have included Lucille Balls daughter, Lucie Arnaz, Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki on the "Young and the Restless"), Spike Owen (MLB player) and former Buffalo Bill tight-end Pete Metzelaars. Susans judicial portraits are on exhibit at Chautauqua and Allegheny Courthouses. Her work can also be found at the Harness Racing Museum Hall of Fame.
Susans work will be on display during July and will showcase local residents, local landmarks, horses, florals and abstracts.  Susans work ranges in price from under a hundred bucks for a charcoal portrait to over five-thousand for a large oil.

"We knew that the City really went all out last year for the bayfront festivities and we wanted to bring something special to the table - Hopefully this can add to the family oriented Beach Bash weekend. The gallery is a beautiful place to share  with family and having a exhibit like this is sure to make an impression"
We envision the future of Dunkirk and surrounding areas as an artistic and culturally active community, achieving economic success and nourishing the soul, spirit and body of its residents.

We embrace the diversity of our community as a source of community strength and as a contributor to the breadth of artistic and cultural activity.

As a new part of our mission for the organization we are using Access to the Arts, the original name of the organization, to bring attention to our varied programs in fields outside of the visual arts.
If you are interested in participating, please send an email to Jason Wolfe, adamsartgallery@gmail.com or contact the gallery during regular business hours,
Fridays from 3pm - 6pm.
